When Do I Apply Greenview Fertilizer?

Greenview Online is watching the weather for you and will post to the blog WHEN YOUR ZONE IS READY for you to apply the Greenview Fairway Formula Fertilizer. If you are not sure which zone you live in, go to the National Garden Association’s Zone Finder and insert your zip code.

Remember, if you ordered online, you will be shipped the product at the right time for you to apply! If you did not order online, KEEP CHECKING THE BLOG FOR WHEN THE RIGHT TIME IS FOR YOUR ZONE!!!

Greenview Fertilizer is available in stores and many people conduct their research online and buy in a store. We also have many people who are now buying online because they like the service!

Some people have asked when they should apply the fertilizer, so here are the instructions. (Remember, ONLY APPLY THIS when we announce your ZONE IS READY or if you ordered online you will receive the fertilizer in the mail with instructions as to when to apply.)

DIRECTIONS FOR APPLYING MY GREENVIEW FERTILIZER?
Once you have received shipment of your fertilizer or you have seen your Zone posted on the blog, follow these instructions for the kind of Spring Fertilizer you purchased. Remember, by using this product, there is no need to apply any additional fertilizer to your lawn until Fall.

When do I applyGreenview Fairway Formula Spring Fertilizer 26-4-12 or Zero Phos 27-0-12?

Spring_27_0_12_1 Once you have received shipment of your fertilizer or you have seen your Zone posted on the blog, we recommend you apply it within the next week when there is rain expected.  The product should be applied when the grass is dry so it can be rained in naturally.  If no rain is expected, you can water the product in if you choose.  The product must be rained or watered in for optimum performance.

When do I apply Greenview Fairway Formula Spring Fertilizer w/ Crabgrass Preventer 26-4-12?

When do I apply Greenview Fairway Formula Spring Fertilizer w/ Weed ‘n Feed and Crabgrass Preventer 24-2-8 or Zero Phos 24-0-6?

Spring_24_2_8_2Once you have received shipment of your fertilizer or you have seen your Zone posted on the blog, we recommend you apply it within the next week when there is no rain expected for a couple of days.  For best results, apply when the dandelions in your lawn have buds or flowers but have not gone into the “puff ball” stage.  Do not mow the lawn for two to three days prior to applying and do not mow the lawn for a couple of days after the application.  The product should be applied when the grass is damp so the product will adhere to the leaves.

I have seeded my yard and the grass has grown about 3 inches. When should I cut the grass and when can I fertilize this new grass for the first time? I live in California, north bay area. Thanks

You can mow new grass for the first time when it is about 3 to 4 inches high, however you should not remove more than 1/3 of the height when mowing.

It is recommended to fertilize 4 to 6 weeks after planting, with a starter fertilizer (for example Greenview Wintergreen Fertilizer 10-16-20). Check out Greenview Online where you can order professional quality Greenview Fairway Formula products for your lawn. http://www.greenviewfertilizer.com/online.

Thank you for posting your question.

How to control grubs is answered only after you determine what kind of grubs are infesting your lawn. There are different species and the timing of application of grub control products is unique to the species. You local county extension agency will be a good source of information to help you with the identification and treatment options for your grub problem. To find your local office http://www.greenviewfertilizer.com/online/state_agency_list.jsp

Greenview markets two products for grub control:

Greenview Grub Preventer and Killer with Mach 2, a grub preventative effective on white grub larvae including: Northern and Southern masked chafer, European chafer and Japanese beetles. This product is used on lawns with known and persistent grub problems. It will provide season long grub control for the lawn. http://www.lebsea.com/newlebsea/pdfs/L-GRV46659.PDF

Greenview Grub Control with Dylox, is a fast acting insecticide that controls sod webworms and white grubs in lawns. http://www.lebsea.com/newlebsea/pdfs/L-LTP18590.PDF

Before applying either of these products, we suggest that you prepare the area of treatment by de-thatching (so the products can get down in the soil). We also recommend mowing the area if necessary, before applying these products; to keep the area undisturbed after application. Be sure to read and follow label directions. The Greenview Grub control products may be ordered by contacting our customer service at (800) 233-1067 Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm EST.

Regarding when to fertilize your lawn and what product to use, it depends on the type of turf. I recommend that you contact your local county extension agency for the appropriate fertilizer application schedule and products.
