It's good to see someone else push for a late fall high nitrogen fertilizer application. Too much is being put down in early spring to the detriment of lawns. Keep up the good work.

It is great to see someone else suggest no fertilizer during the summer months on cool season grasses. Too much fertilizer is applied to most lawns during the summer, yet very few people apply nearly enough nitrogen in late fall before the lawn goes dormant for the season.

Thank you for sharing such a wonderful article. I have just noticed from reading your post that I may be using the wrong mix during the spring, I have been using 1:1.5 after 4 mowings, I am on my 3rd cut of this year so I might follow your advice and chage to 0.5:1 this year and see how it goes.
