For today's home buyer, the real estate market can seem intimidating. Sometimes, though, the devil is in the details. When putting your house up, you could be just one shrub short of the sale!
If your house has been on the market for an extended period and you're looking for that extra glimmer, close the deal with curb appeal. Here are some easy ways to make a perfect first impression.
Makeover your mailbox. Paying attention to details like your mailbox and house number can go a long way to creating that favorable impression. The mailbox design should compliment the style of your home and fit in with the neighborhood. It doesn’t have to be elaborate or whimsical. Sometimes just a fresh coat of paint and trim, or a decorative stand, is all you need to set the proper tone.
Create a beautiful green lawn. Foremost in the landscape design is, of course, your lawn. Thin or browning grass, clumps of leaves, uneven borders and weeds can ruin the impression, and turn appeal into disappointment. On the other hand, a green and healthy turf, trimmed neatly, speaks well of the homeowners and leads buyers to believe that the inside has been just as diligently maintained. An application of Greenview Fairway Formula Spring Weed and Feed with Crabgrass Preventer Zero Phosphate in spring provides a full root system for a healthy, weed-free, green lawn. Buy online and have it shipped to your home, or punch your zip code into our Dealer Locator to find a store near you.
Add some drama to your landscape design. Early blooming trees, shrubs and bulbs will highlight a front porch or walkway with bright colors and varied textures. Consider repaving concrete walkways with pavers, slate, or decorative stone, and line them with colorful containers filled with early spring flowers and hearty plants.
Create interest with paint and trim. One of the most inexpensive ways to add interest and style to the front of your home is with paint. Contrast a muted shade of siding with a bright trim, or consult home improvement professionals or do-it-yourself magazines for popular color palette complements for a stylish face lift to any home.
Décor at your door. Neglected steps, outdated fixtures and peeling or missing shutters can be a turn off to a prospective buyer. Repair, paint, refinish or replace any blemished, imperfect or outdated part of your front entry for maximum effect.

Reading this post, I find myself enlightened with new information to offer some of my customers when I am providing lawn care services.
Some are selling and need the curb appeal to help, so naturally, a fresh cut and trim always helps and I always suggest it. There are many ways to improve the look and feel of a property for potential buyers as I can se from this post.
My other cutomers are asking what they can do (or what I can do for them) to make their property stand out more. For some it is just that they like to appreciate the total beauty. For others it's a race with the Jones'.
No matter, I'm always happy to help and now I have some new ideas. Thanks !

Not only will this increase house value, but it is more pleasing to look at it. It makes me feel good when I see well done yards. A thrill!
